When it comes to how Arizona's law is a huge deal for the state because they have a huge border that they must share with mexico, compared to texas. I belive that everyone has the right to start a new life for themself in this country just like people have done before them. Since being in maine people dont relize that we have a huge border with canada but we dont have some of the problems that arizona has with gang wars but we do have a problem with drugs coming acrossed the border. This is the biggest problem with the border is the drug trafficing. I hope that this problem will get cleared up and things will get better no matter were people are in the United States.
the next issue is with the up incoming governer Lepage and the actions that he said on live news. I do agree with casey there is still the problem of racism in the country and the problem is that it will alway be here because people have the freedom to think the way they well protected by the first amendment. Aslo with the point that they take what some one has said and blows it way out of context.
The first one to respond was Casey. on topic one she talked about how Arizona's laws have made it difficult to live there, and living in Maine we don't see any of the problems that there facing. on topic 2 she addressed that the state of Maine as we can all agree is mainly made up white's and with negative comments to ethnic groups from our Governor doesn't make us or anyone look good at all.
ReplyDeletethe next person was Michelle. she agrees that with Casey about how Maine is mainly made up with whites. she brings up a good point about how our governor's mistake just makes Mainers look uneducated hillbilly's. she also go's on to bring up another good point about the Somalians in the state of Maine and how they get treated.
the last person was Ben. Ben brings up a good point in the first topic following a good hyperlink. Ben talks about how Arizona has to share a big border with Mexico and how Maine has to deal with drugs along the Canadian/American border.
in his second paragraph ben shares a good hyperlink, and talks about how racism in this country will always be since everyone has to freedom of speech.
i agree with Michelle about the Somalians in Maine, but down in Machias Maine, where i grew up a lot of Mexicans and Haitians worked on the blue berry fields. some owners will hire them and then call in the feds to take them away. and the workers never get paid. its true that Maine is different than Arizona, but to me i think Arizona is trying to make a difference. i agree that this country is free, but if you want to come here, do it legaly. i think border states should step up.
on the second topic, what a good way to start your campaign. just shows he really needs to step up on his speeches.
